SuB Karaköy

SuB Karaköy is a 19-room design boutique on Necatibey Caddesi where each room hangs a different piece of contemporary Turkish art. The hotel pairs with its sibling property Root Karaköy a block away to share UP Karaköy — a sixth-floor rooftop with a panoramic skyline view that, depending on which corner table you take, frames either the Galata Tower or the Süleymaniye on the historic peninsula across the water.

There is no pool, no spa, and no formal day pass advertised. The hotel website mentions “Special Day packages” but quotes them only on direct inquiry — so the reliable daycation here is the rooftop, accessible to non-guests for dinner and drinks. It is a quieter rooftop than 10 Karaköy, less of an event and more of a long view, which on the right Tuesday is exactly the point.

Email the hotel ahead. Ask for a rooftop reservation at UP Karaköy, mention if you want the Galata side or the Golden Horn side, and arrive forty minutes before sunset. The art in the lobby — different every season — is worth the early arrival.
