Levni Istanbul Hotel, Handwritten Collection

From €70 · 09:00 – 19:00

The Levni stands on Ankara Caddesi in Sirkeci, the part of the historic peninsula that slopes from the back of Topkapı down to the railway terminus and the ferry piers at Eminönü. It joined Accor’s Handwritten Collection in recent years — a label the group uses for independent hotels with an identifiable character — and the wellness floor reads as part of that thinking rather than a chain spa template.

The spa runs Monday to Friday nine to seven and weekends nine to five, and is housed in the property next door, accessible from the lobby through an internal corridor. Inside: an indoor pool, a sauna, the hammam itself, and a longer treatment menu that includes scrubs, foam massages, manicure, pedicure, and facials. Day-pass access for non-guests is not aggressively marketed but is available on enquiry — the spa email above is the right line of contact.

The hammam is mid-sized and contemporary in finish — heated marble, a flat-arched ceiling rather than the more dramatic central dome of the older houses. What the room does correctly is the temperature climb, which is the test that matters: gradual, not punishing, with enough heat in the stone that lying on it for twenty minutes works through whatever the morning had loaded into the spine. After the bath, the pool sits at the cool end of comfortable, which is the right temperature for the order of operations.
